As for stats, allocate stats appropriate for your primary weapon. When it comes to weapon proficiency, focus on one until 120, then go to the next. You do NOT want to spread out your stats. By the time you're level 50 you can effectively have a hybrid build, such as rifles and grenades for loots and shoots.

To save money on stat resets, go with a hybrid, but start with a grinding class (or looting if you're trying to go strict f2p). There are a few different kinds of builds, such as a looting build, grinding build, and hybrids (grooting builds).

Building the perfect character for a specific situation is what you'll end up doing. Scientist, Engineer, Farmer, etc., those guys are decent for alt accounts with the sole purpose of (slowly) generating money for your main, and aren't really effective until level 45+. You can always get a profession change later for a stat boost class such as soldier or athlete, but if you don't like looting, don't play that much, or you don't want to dish out cash for a profession change, start with the class that best suits your build. But, since you're gonna be level 1 and can't really do much til level 50, you'll want to go for an xp boosting class to start so you can spend less time grinding. Which class is best is really subjective and dependent on play style and goals in game. Now that all that's out of the way, let's begin. That being said, Gold Membership is something you can NOT earn in game, so if you would like double xp and loot chance along with 200 credits and some other nice perks as well, you'll have to pay for that ($8 USD, and worth it if you play the game a lot). In fact, certain limited edition items can ONLY be bought off other players. Other than the unobtainable Wraith Cannon and Vengeance Guard ($750 USD all together with GM), you can get most items in game or from other players, including credits to buy stat resets, profession changes, exp/damage/speed boosters, even ghost ammo (and if you can loot for days and are extremely lucky, enough credits to buy a Wraith Cannon). It took awhile, but I think I'm caught up now after getting to level 50 in two weeks of casual playing and I'm pleased to find that most of the old methods still work great.įirst and foremost, I would like everyone reading this to know that this game is pay to win faster, not pay to win. I've scrapped 2 accounts since and recently came back to the game after a year long break. So, that being said, I'm going to attempt to inform people of some recent changes they may have missed since they last played DF and teach new players what to go for and what to avoid.Īs for myself, I've been playing since 2D back when outpost attacks had scheduled times and the Grinder was the coolest shit ever. I'll be honest, the game community isn't that helpful anymore and most guides out there are years old.
